International Medal Success!

We are thrilled to announce that we recently picked up a silver medal in the 2018 International Wine Challenge, one of the most prestiguous and internationally recognised wine competitions. The silver medal was awarded to our Bacchus 2016, echoing it’s success in the UK Wine Awards earlier in the year.

The International Wine Challenge (IWC) is now in its 34th year. It is one of the world’s finest and most meticulously judged wine competitions which assess every wine blind and judges each for its faithfulness to style, region and vintage. Throughout the rigorous judging processes, each medal-winning wine is tasted on three separate occasions by at least ten different judges.

Fiona Shiner, vineyard owner says: “It is wonderful to have international recognition for our local Cotswold wines following our UK Wine Awards earlier in the year.”

Jeremy Mount, winemaker says: “The quality of the fruit in 2016 was excellent. I’m so pleased that the judging panel have given recognition to the Bacchus 2016 for what it is – a very good wine.”

Bacchus is the third most planted grape variety in England, after Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and we have Bacchus on all three of our vineyard sites across the Stroud Valleys. Pop in and get yourself a bottle to celebrate with us!
